Bristol Integrated Carers Team
Bristol City Council and NHS Bristol have come together as partners to continue and improve their support for carers. They’ve pooled the money available, and set up the Integrated Carers Team to respond to your needs. The Integrated Carers Team supports anyone who:

  • Is not getting carers’ services from the Council or the NHS
  • Has previously been told they don’t qualify for support
  • Feels that being a carer is affecting their health and wellbeing
  • Needs support to continue their caring role into the future

Crossroads Care Bristol South (Carer’s Trust)
Our core service sees a trained carer support worker coming into the home to take over the caring responsibilities. Each local scheme is an independent charity, which has its own funding streams and is therefore able to provide additional services according to funding and demand at a local level.

South Glos Parents and Carers (SGPC)
SGPC helps to improve services for our children and families living in South Gloucestershire. They provide informal support for parents and carers who have a child with any Special Educational Need and Disability (SEND) from physical disabilities to social communication, anxiety to learning disabilities, etc.

Time 4 Carers
Time 4 Carers is run by carers, for carers. They organise activities, events and meals to give time out for South Gloucestershire carers. They have a newsletter and arrange craft workshops, demonstrations like cookery, lunches, cream teas and much more.

Carer’s Support Centre
Carers Support Officers can provide in-depth, one-to-one support to individual carers where it’s needed. The Carers Support Centre provides information and advice to carers of any age living in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas. They do this by:

  • Providing information on services available
  • Supporting carers to access the help they need
  • Involving carers in the planning and development of services
  • Offering practical support: training, counselling, breaks and holidays, emergency card, quarterly newsletter

Hft (Formerly Home Farm Trust)
Hft Bristol and Bath (in Montpelier) provides a range of support services for people with learning disabilities across Bath, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. Hft’s Family Carer Support Service (FCSS) is a free national service for family carers who have a relative with a learning disability. They support family carers in a variety of ways:

  • Providing one-to-one support by telephone, letter or email
  • Providing workshops about issues affecting family carers
  • Developing family carer resources
  • Updating family carers about issues and laws that affect them

Family carers can sign up to receive updates from the HfT Family Carer Support Service about news and laws affecting family carers, as well as the work of the FCSS team.
